
The offer:
- Our eight days horseback riding trails are available all year round.
- We offer 8 day trails for a minimum of 2 persons and a maximum of 8 riders.
If a single person is interested by our 8 day trail we will charge you 25% of our price.
- If asked vegetarian menus are possible.
- During the trail we are in continuous contact with the ranch. A 4x4 car brings us each night the equipment and is also available in case of emergency.
- After our arrival we enjoy our first dinner together at the ranch. Here we get to know each other; we clarify details and answer your questions.
- You will spend your first and last night in our hostel in the center of San Pedro, with private toilet and bathroom.
- Every other night we will camp.
- The trail equipment provided includes: tent, sleeping bag, duvets, sleeping mattresses, saddle bags, chaps, and helmets.
What to bring along with you:
Personal equipment, which is important to bring along the trail: sun glasses, sun hat, sun cream, water recipient, warm clothes for the night, bathing suit, torch.
Weather and temperatures:
The temperature in the desert can vary considerably depending on the period of the year. It can be very hot during the daytime and very cold at night (-10 to 30 degrees Celsius). Sandstorms can occur from time to time, and during the Bolivian winter (January to March) there are occasional rainfalls. It is very important to bring along warm clothes, as well as light, preferably long sleeved shirts, sweaters and jackets.
Altitudes:
The trail starts at an altitude of 2 400 meters above the sea level and the highest point reached will be of 4 200 meters.
How to reach San Pedro:
The nearest airport to San Pedro de Atacama is Calama (about 100 km).
Flights from Europe arrive here via Santiago.
The transfer from the airport of Calama to San Pedro and back is included in our price.
Money exchange:
In San Pedro you will have many opportunities to exchange Dollars and Euros. You will also find 2 ATM machines, where you will be able to obtain directly Chilean Pesos. There is no bank in San Pedro.
